Das Video zum neuen MACHINE HEAD Song „Catharsis“ gibt es zwar noch nicht, aber wie es beim Dreh war, kann man jetzt schon sehen. Am 26.01.2018 kommt dann das dazugehörige Album (ebenfalls „Catharsis“ genannt) über Nuclear Blast auf den Markt.

A lot of consideration went into making these songs more identifiable to a wider audience. Simplifying ideas, simplifying hooks, really concentrating on story-telling as opposed to ‘brutal poetry’ or whatever. And while I’d love to say it was all some grand plan, there was no ‘plan’. You never know where you’re going to end up whenever you start writing a record… you just write… but I tell ya what… we ended up with a landmark here.
Whenever you finish an album, you always feel proud, but this time… we’ve got something really special. We can feel it. We know it. „Catharsis“ could really elevate our genre.“

Beim ersten Song habe ich mir gedacht so schlecht hat man Machine Head ueberhaupt noch nicht gehoert. Grooviges Gequatsche im Midtempobereich. Melodischer Gesang der an Emo US Bands erinnert.
Ich gebe zu, „Beyond The Pale“ fand ich jetzt auch nicht sooo unglaublich geil, aber ein Stilbruch ist das jetzt nicht. Groove und melodischer Gesang sind doch nun wirklich nix Neues bei Machine Head. Vielleicht magst du die Band einfach grundsätzlich nicht? Oder du hast nach „Burn My Eyes“ einfach konsequent weggehört?
Fuer the Blackening wuerde ich sogar 9 Punkte geben , aber der Song hier ist auch vom Sound nicht unbedingt das wahre.
Also mir persönlich sagt „Beyond The Pale“ auch so gar nicht zu.
Das passt alles nicht zusammen in meinen Ohren.
Bin mal auf den Rest gespannt. An einem einzelnen Song sollte man eine Platte nicht fest machen, aber gerade die Cleanen-Parts in dem Song klingen unglaublich „poppig“
