Die Bay-Area-Thrasher MACHINE HEAD arbeiten derzeit auf Hochtouren an einem Nachfolger zu ihrem 2011er-Erfolgsalbum „Unto The Locust“. Im Interview mit Metal Hammer UK verriet Sänger, Gitarrist und Hauptsongwriter Robb Flynn kürzlich, dass die Band sich im Februar wieder ins Studio begeben wolle und ein Release für den Spätsommer 2014 anpeile. Unter den bereits bekannten Songtiteln befinden sich vielversprechende Namen wie „Killers & Kings“, „Beneath The Silt“, „Ojos De La Muerte“, „Sail Into The Black“ und Night Of The Long Knives“.

Neben einigen Details zum Songwritingprozess äußerte Flynn sich kritisch zum heutigen Nutzen eines Albumcovers: „Ein Albumcover ist eine notwendige Sache, aber für so viele Leute ist es nur ein Zwei-Zentimeter-Bildchen auf ihrem Ipod.“ Dennoch habe die Band diesbezüglich „definitiv ein paar Ideen.“ „Unto The Locust“ erreichte in den US-amerikanischen Billboardcharts 2011 Platz 22.
