Def Leppard ist ursprünglich eine New-Wave-of-British-Heavy-Metal-Band, die zwischen 1983 und 1992 ihre größten Erfolge feierte. Der Musikstil der Band wandelte sich nach dem dritten Album zunehmend in Richtung kommerzieller Hard Rock. Ihr erfolgreichstes Album ist das im Sommer 1987 erschienene vierte Studiowerk „Hysteria“.
