Die Death Metal-Ikonen DEICIDE kündigen mit “Overtures Of Blasphemy” ihr mittlerweile zwölftes Studioalbum an. Die Platte stellt den Nachfolger zu “In The Minds Of Evil” aus dem Jahr 2013 dar. “Overtures Of Blasphemy” wurde von Jason Suecof (u.a. THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, TRIVIUM) im Audio Hammer Studios produziert und wird durch ein Artwork von Zbigniew Bielak (u.a. WATAIN, GHOST, PARADISE LOST) abgerundet. Erscheinen wird das Album am 14. September 2018 über Century Media Records.
Band-Chef Glen Benton zu “Overtures Of Blasphemy”: „This album came together over time, meaning we didn’t want to rush it. A few people might remember an interview where Steve Asheim (original member, drummer/songwriter) said ‚the material is done, but it’s just not there yet.‘ Well, that was the jumping off point of when this album truly started taking shape and the songs became what they are now…complete, compact and effective. As the band pushed forward, so did the writing process and a few other processes which made the record and the band stronger. The result is Overtures Of Blasphemy, perhaps the group’s strongest release to date. Jason Suecoff lended his considerable talents and attention to detail in making the tracking of the songs as great as they can be and the final mix as sonically brutal, yet as listenable as possible. An arduous process, but one well worth the time and effort.“

Working with Glen Benton was a great honor and a throwback to the time, when death metal aesthetics were at their vilest. Satan Spawn the Caco Deamon is alive and well.“

Ja klar, vermiss ich Glen’s gekeife. Gut im alter verliert man die ein oder andere Fähigkeit (ich weis wovon ich spreche,hihi). Trotzdem fand ich „in the minds of evil“ richtig gut. Seal the Tomb below drückt dicht, satt und fett produziert durch die Boxen. Als Fan erster Stunde freu mich schon auf’s Album und folgende Tour.
…und Verdammt hören sich die Leads an wie frühe Blind Guardian oder werd ich schon senil?…
Als autorität auf dem gebiet muss ich dir recht geben, der verlinkte song hat tatsächlich was von alten blind guardian. Ich kenne nicht soviel von deicide, aber so melodisch klangen die doch sonst nicht, oder?
Jo, bisher rein technischer Ami Death. Zuletzt haben Deicide eher mal mit melodischeren Vocals gearbeitet, aber das ist definitiv neu ( mmmh Melodic Ami Death, Sachen gibt’s). Vielleicht als Ausgleich für die verlorengegange Zweistimmigkeit.
Irgendwie find ich die Blind Guardian Anleihe witzig, sofern sich das nicht durch das ganze Album zieht. Ich wäre eher für eine Zusammenarbeit, Demons&Wizards ist mit Deicide sicher auch passender. 😬 Melodic Orchestral German Ami Speed Death Metal 🤘
Hehe wobei ich nicht glaube, dass sich der Herr Kürsch und der Herr Schaffer so wirklich mit den blasphemischen Themen vom Herrn Benton anfreunden können. Bei denen gehts ja dann doch eher um Fantasy Zeugs, richtiges Rumgedeibel würde ich denen auch nicht abkaufen. Aber wer weiß, bei Demons & Wizards wird derzeit ja wohl gewerkelt und fürs Wacken sind sie schon gebucht nächstes Jahr.
Unabhängig davon hab ich aber gelesen, dass Rob Halford mal bei Nergal, Ihsahn und Tobias Forge nach Kollaborationen angefragt hat, das könnte alles durchaus interessant werden :).
Hihi, Halford und Behemoth am besten das ganze noch auf Nuclear Blast, da gehen die Hardliner wieder Steil. In der Tat das wird interessant. Da sollte doch wieder die 200er Kommimarke zu knacken sein.😬
