Das neue MACHINE HEAD Album hat einen Namen. Der Nachfolger zu „Through The Ashes Of Empires“ nennt sich „The Blackening“.

Die Band hat sich heute in die Sharkbite Studios in Oakland begeben, um das Album aufzunehmen. Sänger und Gitarrist Robert Flynn wird beim 6. Studioalbum wieder die Rolle des Produzenten übernehmen und Mark Keaton wird wieder einmal als Engineer fungieren. Colin Richardson (CANNIBAL CORPSE, TRIVIUM), der schon lange mit MACHINE HEAD zusammenarbeitet, wird zusammen mit Herrn Flynn die Platte im Oktober in London mixen.

„Words can’t really describe how excited we are to get into the studio and record this record,“ erzählt Schlagzeuger Dave McClain.

Vorläufige Songtitel des neuen Albums, das voraussichtich im Frühjahr 2007 erscheinen wird, sind: „Clenching The Fists Of Dissent“
„Aesthetics Of Hate“
„Halo“
„The Beautiful Mourning“
„Now I Lay Thee Down“
„Slanderous Love“
„Wolves“
„A Farewell To Arms“.

Gitarrist Phil Demmel fügt hinzu: „We’re still smoothing out some rough edges but what we have, we’re extremely proud of. I’m not one to go off on ‚Heavier than blah-blah-blah!‘ and ‚Crushes your-these-and-those!‘, but I will say that fans of what we call ‚Just Fuckin‘ Metal‘ will be digging this new material“. Die Band hat außerdem den langjähringen MACHINE HEAD Künstler Paul Brown (Marylin Manson, Michael Moore) mit dem Album Artwork beauftragt.
