Destruction is coming!

GUNS N‘ ROSES lassen in London Plakatwände aufstellen, auf den „Destruction is coming“ steht. Selbstverständlich ist die Welt in Aufruhr: Gibt es die Reunion im klassischen Line-Up mit Axl Rose, Slash, Izzy Stradlin und Steven Adler? Wird die Stadt zerstört? Die Welt gar?
Bekannt gegeben ist nun erst einmal, dass der Debüt-Klassiker „Appetite For Destruction“ am 29. Juni 2018 über die Universal Music Group neu veröffentlicht wird. Wobei „Re-Release“ irgendwie ein zu zaghaftes Wort ist angesichts des Monsters, dass da geplant ist. Das Dutzend Songs von „Welcome To The Jungle“ bis „Rocket Queen“, gerade immerhin 30 geworden, wird nämlich … äh … etwas aufgestockt.

Die „Locked N‘ Loaded“-Box zum Re-Release von „Appetite For Destruction

„Locked N‘ Loaded“ ist ein Monster

Die Chefin dabei ist die massive „Locked N‘ Loaded“-Box. Diese wird das Album in einer neu gemasterten Version enthalten, Gleiches gilt für die „B-Sider N‘ EPs“, die zuvor unveröffentlichten „Sound City Session N‘ More“-Aufnahmen von 1986 und eine Blu-Ray-Audio-Disc der Platte. Obendrauf gibt es diverse Bonus-Tracks und Videos inklusive des bisher nicht fertiggestellten zu „It’s So Easy“ von 1989. Abgerundet wird das Ganze von einem 96-seitigen Hardcover-Buch mit Fotos aus Axl Roses privatem Archiv und einigen Memorabilia.
Auf Vinyl gibt es „Appetite For Destruction“ außerdem in einer 2LP-Variante im Gatefold und aufwendigen Artwork. Beigelegt werden auch sieben 7″-Singles: Die fünf seinerzeit veröffentlichten sowie eine weitere zu „Patience“ und eine zu „Shadow Of Your Love“.

Und: Letzteres ist tatsächlich ein neuer Song, produziert von Mike Clink und im Lyric-Video unten zu bestaunen.
Wer bis hierhin gekommen ist, sollte sich also ernsthaft überlegen, was zu tun ist: Perserkatze auf eBay-Kleinanzeigen, Ommas Häuschen, irgendwas mit breaking the law? Es hilft ja alles nichts: Believe the hype!
